Following Larry Craig's bathroom bust at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, the three-term Senator has become radioactive. Pro-family groups are demanding his resignation. Two GOP Senators -- John McCain and Norm Coleman -- have already called for him to resign, as have two Republican congressmen.Either Craig perjured himself by filing a false plea, or he solicited an undercover police officer and lied about it on national television during a bizarre press conference yesterday in which he declared "I am not gay, and never have been."
My prediction: Craig will step down in a matter of days. The scandal is yet another firm reminder that our hope, trust and confidence do not rest in politicians or political victories, but in Jesus Christ.
